Dental Braces-Things you need to know!

Dental braces are orthodontic tools used to straighten or align the teeth and guide them to their proper place. Wires, brackets, and bands make up the structure. Braces help to rectify abnormal tooth positions, chewing efficiency, and smile aesthetics. Dental braces near San Jose are the most advanced and one of the best available treatments for a malocclusion.

Do you want to know the various types of braces?

Metal Conventional Braces:

These are the most typical and traditional braces. These are the common type of braces that people are aware of. This consists of metal brackets and wires that are attached to your teeth with the help of elastic bands. which comes in a wide range of colors. The braces impose constant pressure which over time move the teeth into the desired position. These have no age restriction

Metal Self Ligating Braces:

Metal brackets with a shutter or lock mechanism do not require elastic to secure the wire. Metal self-ligating braces are more comfortable and smaller in size than typical metal braces. These are useful for arch extension and reducing the requirement for extraction.

Ceramic conventional Braces

Braces with clear brackets are known as ceramic braces. They employ tooth color to fit in with your teeth more naturally. Metal braces have the same shape and size. These are less apparent on the teeth, and, as a result, older teenagers and adults with aesthetic concerns prefer them. Even the wires used are sometimes tooth-colored, making them less apparent. Because they are smaller and more brittle than metal braces, they require more attention and protection. They are more commonly utilized in upper teeth than lower teeth because they need additional protection.

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are a type of heavy metal brace that is worn behind the teeth. Even silver or gold can be used to make these metallic braces. CAD-CAM / 3D Designing is used to customize each Bracket. The procedure is desirable and virtually undetectable. This, on the other hand, can produce minor speech issues throughout treatment.

Recovery and Aftercare

An appointment for retainer implantation is scheduled one to two weeks after the dental braces have been removed. Retainers, on the other hand, can sometimes be made and put during the braces removal session.

Retainers are orthodontic appliances worn after the orthodontic treatment to stabilize the position of the teeth. Once the braces are removed the soft tissues and the bone around needs time to adapt to the new tooth position. to avoid relapse of the teeth in this period retainers are worn.

The retainer is custom-made to fit your mouth. It is common for someone to wear their retainer full-time for the first six months after having their braces removed. Following this time, the retainer may only need to be worn at night. However, this is at the discretion of the orthodontist.

Following the removal of your braces, you should visit your regular dentist for teeth cleaning. Your orthodontist will clean any leftover adhesive from your teeth and the region where the braces were removed, but a complete oral cleaning is recommended after that.

Because there may be a visible variation in color between where the brackets were joined and the enamel surface, teeth whitening may be explored; although you can use gels or toothpaste to whiten your teeth while wearing braces, it is recommended that you wait until the braces are removed to avoid color mismatches or possible damage to the orthodontic components.
